Though I built my cottage in an inhabited area, I hear not the noise of carriages and horses.

You ask me how I can be like this, and I answer that when the mind is far away, one’s physical location naturally seems remote.

I pick chrysanthemums by the east fence, and the southern mountains appear before me in the distance.

The clouds in the mountains glow colorfully at dusk, and the birds fly together back to the forests.

Herein lies true meaning! But when I try to describe it, I am at a loss for words.
